NJCarListings.com is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We design and test the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination for accessible websites.

What we've done

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels so screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack) can navigate them; page changes and messages are announced.
  • Every form field has a label, required fields are marked, and errors are announced.
  • Text and controls meet WCAG color-contrast ratios, and the layout reflows on phones and at 200–400% zoom.
  • Photos have descriptive text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations stop automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • We check pages with automated tools (axe) and by hand, and re-test when we add features.

Listings from sellers

Car photos and descriptions are posted by private sellers and dealers. We ask sellers to write clear descriptions and we add text alternatives to photos automatically, but some seller-provided content may not be fully accessible. If a listing is hard to use, contact us and we'll help you get the information.
